Description:
Oregon has enjoyed a string of back to back incredible vintages.  Both 2014 and 2015 are being called two of the best vintages in the history of the state.  Hot and dry conditions yielded fuller, riper wines than usual, and I'm a huge fan.  Stop by and taste what I'm talking about.  Up first, it's an incredible, Burgundy-like Chardonnay from Omero Cellars.  One of the best domestic Chardonnay values in the store, I can't get enough of this stuff.  Next, it's an aromatic and delicious white blend from the folks at Anne Amie.  An Alsatian-like field blend of Riesling, Muller Thurgau, Pinot Blanc and a few others, it is lightly effervescent and fruit forward.  To finish, it's the brilliant 2015 Pinot Noir from Kings Ridge.  I just had a bottle of this the other night, and it reminded me of wines that typically cost $30+.  Flowing with silky red fruits, baking spices, and a hint of earth, this medium bodied red is really delicious this year.  Stop by, taste, learn and save big on all of the featured tasting wines. All of the featured tasting wines are on sale the day of the tasting: take 10% off if you mix any 3, 15% off if you mix any 6, or 20% off if you mix any 12. 1. 2014 Omero Cellars Chardonnay (Willamette Valley, Oregon) - This small winery sources grapes from organic, biodynamic and sustainably farmed vineyards.  And they put those grapes to good use! Winemaker Sarah Cabot ferments with indigenous yeasts low and slow -- the fermentation takes place in a mixture of new and used French oak and takes 8 months to complete.  This slow and natural fermentation saps all of the flavor out of the grapes, and this is a very complex and full flavored Chardonnay.   Tasting Price: $22.49 in mixed 3-packs | $21.24 in mixed 6-packs | $19.99 in mixed cases 2. 2015 Anne Amie Cuvée A "Amrita" (Willamette Valley, Oregon) - The name Amrita comes from the Buddhist equivalent of ambrosia, or a wine of the gods.  Anne Amie's white blend combines 6 different white grapes together each harvest to create an irresistible, lightly effervescent, fruit-forward wine.  A blend of Riesling, Muller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Viognier, Gewurztraminer, and Chardonnay, it is fruit filled and just off-dry.  We think it's the perfect white wine to pair with spicy Asian or Indian cuisine. Tasting Price: $15.29 on mixed 3-packs | $14.44 on mixed 6-packs | $13.59 on mixed cases 3. 2015 Kings Ridge Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley, Oregon) - Ryan Harms started Union Wine Company with goal of "making wines for everyone."  He has succeeded!  His wines are affordable, they're delicious, and here's the proof.  A wonderful rendition of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, his 2015 is the best value of its type that we've ever stocked. Tasting Price: $17.99 in mixed 3-packs | $16.999 in mixed 6-packs | $15.99 in mixed cases Special Wine of the Week Price: $17.99/bottle, $15.99/bottle on your solid 6-pack, or $14.99/bottle on your solid case! Description:
The hot summer weather that is upon has me dreaming of warm and sunny Southern Italy.  I love the region's rich and juicy reds as well as it's Mediterranean styled whites.  Join us as we pour you some perennial favorites as well as some new ones.  Up first, it's the brilliant Vermentino from Sardinia's Sella E Mosca.  Crisp, fresh, and delightful, it has me dreaming  of the beach and seafood.  Up next, it's a new extreme value from small grower/producer Paolo Petrilli.  A medium bodied, juicy blend of Nero di Troia, Aglianico, Montepulciano and Bombino Bianco, this is Italy's answer to French Cotes du Rhone.  Last, but not least, we'll pour you a really special treat in the form of Morella's Old Vine Primitivo.  Australian Lisa Gilbee is making some of the region's top wines, and this one just scored 93 points in The Wine Advocate.  Trust me, you're gonna' love it.  Stop by, taste, learn, and save big on all of the featured tasting wines. All of the featured tasting wines are on sale the day of the tasting: take 10% off if you mix any 3, 15% off if you mix any 6, or 20% off if you mix any 12. 1. 2015 Argiolas Costamolino Vermentino (Sardinia, Italy) - I've had 10 consecutive vintages of this wine and it's always fantastic.  A candidate for one of the best whites to serve with any sort of seafood, it is zesty and crisp with notes of melon, citrus, and white flowers.  I also enjoy it as an aperitif, especially on hot summer days. Tasting Price: $15.29 in mixed 3-packs | $14.44 in mixed 6-packs | $13.59 in mixed cases 2. 2016 Paolo Petrilli Motte del Lupo (Puglia, Italy) - Jay Murrie of Durham's Piedmont Wine Imports brings this one to us from a small, certified organic estate based in Lucera in the heel of Italy's boot.  It is one of the most charming red wines I've tasted this year.  A stainless steel fermented blend of Nero di Troia, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and the rarely seen Bombino Bianco, it is much lighter and fresher than most Puglian reds.  Bright notes of cherry, plum, herbs and spice flow through this extreme Italian red wine value.  Yum! Tasting Price: $11.69 in mixed 3-packs | $11.04 in mixed 6-packs | $10.39 in mixed cases 2. 2013 Morella Old Vines Primitivo (Puglia, Italy) - Lisa Gilbee makes the best Primitivos in Italy........there, I said it!  Crazy story -- Lisa is from Australia, but she married a native Puglian and now is considered one of the region's top winemakers.  Her home estate in Manduria is certifed biodynamic, and all of her vines are old -- 80 years old for this wine. Grapes are hand harvested, fermented in small open vats, and then aged for 14 months in new French barriques.  The wine is then aged an additional 18 months in bottle before release.  The resulting wine is truly awesome. Tasting Price: $47.69 in mixed 3-packs | $45.04 in mixed 6-packs | $42.39 in mixed cases Josh Spurling Owner/Operator at Table Wine 828.505.8588 [email protected]
