Description:
NCDA/NCDF New Works Award Winner Chris Yon (Winston-Salem) presents a new solo for Taryn Griggs, HOW TO PUNCH, KICK, STAB, KILL. Witty and dark, the work draws inspiration from disaster survival guides, instructional diagrams for aerobic disco routines, and illustrations of disembodied hands in its idiosyncratic performance. Alexandra Warrens JOYEMOVEMENT Dance Company (Greensboro) presents excerpts from the full-length For Love of Country, an exploration of patriotism, struggle, reconciliation, and moving forward. Natalie Marrone (Durham) transports viewers to an agrarian space through her duet Thresh, where the complex stories of the land and people are inextricable. Matt Pardos (Burlington) Contemporary Jazz solo, I Insist, explores physical and mental limits inside of an engulfing choreographic score. Magnificent Mirage, a trio by Megan Payne (Charlotte), investigates the experimental fashion photography of Deborah Turbeville, exploring abstraction, disintegration, and manipulation.

Description:
Have A Family Friendly Fright Night and Earn Money For Your School At The Haunted Trail at Pisgah Brewing Co. Are you ready to gather your closest ghouls and raise some money for your school? Well, the Haunted Trail is back for its 5th year at Pisgah Brewing Company, and the Ghouls For Schools program is now monster sized! Like last year, the Ghouls for Schools program will give $1 back from each ticket to your PTA or PTO of choice. This year, Ingles will award the grand prize of an additional $1000 to the school with the most participation. Visit our website for more information about how easy it is to participate in this program! www.hauntedtrailwnc.com The Haunted Trail is ideal for children ages 3-12. The night includes a heart pumping walk through the trail with live actors, spooky sounds, and spectacular props. After adrenaline reaches peak levels during the trail walk, guests spill out screaming and laughing into the Party at Pisgah Park. The party warmly welcomes trail-goers with Halloween crafts, local food trucks and amusing, super-sized games as well as Pisgah beer on tap for the grown-ups! The younger ghouls ages 3-4 can enjoy the “Sweet Peek Tour” through the trail before it gets dark. The Party at Pisgah Park has plenty of entertainment while braver family members explore the trail. The art of keeping it entertaining and not traumatizing makes The Trail special. Guests can stroll at their own pace through the trail, knowing that nothing will touch them or be gory. “We created The Trail to be a DIY fright level so parents and children can design their own experience” says Trail Co-owner Arica Haro. “We are excited to have the support of great local business like Ingles Supermarkets, Mellow Mushroom, Poppy’s Popcorn, and Pisgah Brewing to help us grow this event each year,” notes Trail Co-Owner Hans Carlos Banzer.
