Description:
It's the most wonderful time of the wine year! The 2016 dry roses are beginning to arrive, and that means spring is just around the corner. Stop by to sample of the early arrivals from some of our favorite producers. We'll start with a classic Provencal rose from Domaine Houchart -- this is always one of the first to arrive and one of the first to disappear. Get by and get some before it's all gone. Next up is the Domaine Lafage Miraflors Rose, our Wine of the Week and a candidate for best dry rose of the 2016 vintage. As always, it comes in a beautiful bottle and the juice contained within is equally gorgeous. To finish up, we'll sample you on the limited production Rose from the fine folks at Banshee. This year's version is better than ever. Stop by, taste, learn and save on some stunning dry roses to enjoy with the warmer weather. Can't make it by, but want to place an order? Just email us at josh@tablewineasheville.com. The Wines Save big on all of the tasting wines! Mix any 3 of them and save 10%, mix any 6 and save 15%, or mix any 12 and save 20%! 1. 2016 Domaine Houchart Cotes de Provence Rose (Provence, France) - Domaine Houchart is owned by Quiot family of Chateauneuf du Pape, and their dry rose is a prime example of Provencal rose. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, it is rich and almost creamy with notes of ripe raspberry, strawberry and cherry. It finishes with a touch of "grapefruit zing" which keeps everything fresh and friendly. Tasting Price: $12.59 on mixed 3-packs | $11.89 on mixed 6-packs | $11.19 on mixed cases 2. 2016 Domaine Lafage Miraflors Rose (Roussillon, France) - It's our Wine of the Week, and it's an absolutely stellar value in first class dry rose. Jean-Marc Lafage crafts this one from blend of 80 year old Grenache Gris and younger vine Mourvedre. The result is a wine flowing with ripe and creamy red fruits, white peach, and spring flowers. Even better, it's on sale! Tasting Price: $16.19 on mixed 3-packs | $15.29 on mixed 6-packs | $14.39 on mixed cases Special Wine of the Week Price: $15.99/bottle or $14.39/bottle on your solid 6-pack -- on sale through March 9th 3. 2016 Banshee Rose (Mendocino County, California) - The team at Banshee have changed things up a bit on their rose. It used to be all Pinot Noir from Sonoma, but they are now using a stunning, biodynamically farmed site in Mendocino County. The blend is still led by Pinot Noir, but there are smaller portions of Grenache, Grenache Gris, Barbera and Syrah. The resulting wine is one of the most complex and dazzling dry roses produced in California. We only got 5 cases of this one this year, so come and get it before it's gone. Tasting Price: $19.79 on mixed 3-packs | $18.69 on mixed 6-packs | $17.59 on mixed cases

Description:
The Haen Gallery, located in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, presents “Wintertide: A Group Show” with the opening reception on Saturday, Feburary 25th from 5:30-7:30pm. The exhibition will run through the end of March. “Wintertide” will introduce Luigi Gatti, an Italian painter whose work depicts stories of small, private moments. The twilight effect captured in each piece is not just conveyed through the light and the oxidized, scraped colors, but also through an atmosphere that is suspended somewhere between myth and melancholy. Each is a short story that attempts to explain the inexplicable: the charm and the mystery of life. New work by Haen Gallery artists Larry Gray, Valerio D’Ospina, Colby Caldwell, Ursula Gullow, Alicia Armstrong, Francis Di Fronzo, Dana Gingras, and Mark Carter will also be presented in this stunning collection of oil paintings, photography, and sculpture. A note from Gallery Director Chris Foley: “I'm very excited about this show. Our artists continually amaze me with their ability to develop and grow in their expressiveness. With the introduction of new artists and new art, the range and level of quality will be remarkable. Don't miss this one!” The Haen Gallery is located at 52 Biltmore Avenue in downtown Asheville, across from Aloft Hotel and between the City Bakery and Chestnut. The gallery is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday 11am-6pm, and Sunday 12-5pm. With locations in Asheville and Brevard, The Haen Gallery offers the work of established artists whose distinctive and unique style sets it apart from ordinary and imitative efforts. Friday, February 3rd from 4-7pm -- Get your weekend off to a good start with the best free wine tasting in Asheville! This week, we'll pour you perfect house wines. Affordable, delicious, and perfect for all occasions! Being that Table Wine focuses on finding "artisanal wines at affordable prices," it's only natural that we stock a multitude of great, hand crafted wines that sell for less than $15. Join us this Friday to sample some of our favorites! We'll start with one of the best Pinot Grigio values on the planet -- trust us, this one has more body, more flavor, and a plumper texture than anything else on the market for $10. Next up is one of the great Chardonnay values in the world -- made by the talented Jean-Marc Lafage (one of the best winemakers in Southern France), it is a consistent 90+ pointer and this year's release is outstanding. To finish, it's a new Red Blend from California -- made by Larry Levin, the same guy who makes the Grayson wines, this is like a "Poor Man's Prisoner." Stop by, taste, learn, and save big on all of the featured tasting wines. Can't make it by, but want to place an order? Just email us at josh@tablewineasheville.com. The Wines Save big on all of the tasting wines! Mix any 3 of them and save 10%, mix any 6 and save 15%, or mix any 12 and save 20%! 1. 2015 Alois Lageder Riff Pinot Grigio (Tre Venezie, Italy): Alois Lageder is regarded as one of the great producers of Italy's Alto Adige zone, and for this wine, he selects fruit from his large and diverse list of high quality growers. The resulting wine is one of the best Pinot Grigio values we've ever come across. Ripe and nicely textured, with fresh apple, pear, peach and floral notes, this is a really nice interpretation of Pinot Grigio. Tasting Price: $9.89 on mixed 3-packs | $9.34 on mixed 6-packs | $8.79 on mixed cases 2. 2014 Domaine Lafage Novellum Chardonnay (Roussillon, France) - This is year in and year out one of the greatest Chardonnay values on the planet, and the 2015 is no exception. Jeb Dunnuck of The Wine Advocate said, "Tasting like it cost three times the price, it offers lots of orchard fruits, white peach, honeysuckle and a hint of vanilla to go with a medium to full-bodied, crisp, yet still textured and mouth-filling style on the palate." 90 points Tasting Price: $12.59 on mixed 3-packs | $11.89 on mixed 6-packs | $11.19 on mixed cases 3. 2015 Ghostrider Ungrafted Red Blend (Various Regions, California) - This is a new one, but it's already flying off the shelves! A combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and a few others, it is super ripe, supple, and packed with flavors of warm berries, spices and toasty oak. For fans of wines like The Prisoner and such, this is a great everyday option. Tasting Price: $12.59 on mixed 3-packs | $11.89 on mixed 6-packs | $11.19 on mixed cases

Description:
Asheville Gallery of Art March 2017 Show ‘ARTventure’ ‘ARTventure’ for March at Asheville Gallery of Art Asheville Gallery of Art’s March show, ‘ARTventure,’ features the work of two gallery artists, Sandi Anton and Anne McLaughlin. The artists chose the show’s name to describe their respective art adventures as they continue to learn and progress through the process of making art. The show runs March 1-31 during gallery hours, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sundays. The gallery, located at 82 Patton Avenue in Asheville, across from Pritchard Park, will host a reception for the artists on Friday, March 3, from 5-8 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited to stop by. Sandi Anton first held a brush in her hand in May of 2009, and fell in love with a whole new world. “Suddenly, all objects and subjects became potential paintings,” she says. Having lived in the French Quarter in New Orleans for 12 years, much of what she paints and the subjects that intrigue her the most are architectural in nature, though she continues to challenge herself with other themes. “I strive to paint from a pure and creative mind, for the pleasure of those who love the movement and architecture of a vibrant city.” She claims that experimentation and practice are keys to her process. Most recently Anton says she is exploring a “less is more” concept in her paintings to leave more to the imagination of the viewer. Anne McLaughlin, during her life-long career as a pediatric physical therapist, took on outside interests like photography and world travel. Those trips always included art museums and galleries, which led her to a study of art history. She and her husband moved to Madison County, NC, in 2002. “Being in this area rich with beauty spurred me to paint and has pushed me to continue my study of art.” Her work is both landscape and figurative. “I am happily painting and I am totally addicted to the dance of color, light, and texture, and the expression of my observations and my imagination,” says McLaughlin. “I hope my works provide the viewer with a range of feelings—mystery, peace, joy, or fun, and that the painting opens the imagination of the viewer to experience and appreciate the work.” As well as the paintings of the two artists, those of the other 29 gallery members will be on display and for sale through the month of March. For further information about this show, you can contact Asheville Gallery of Art at (828) 251-5796, visit the gallery website at www.ashevillegallery-of-art.com, or go to the gallery Facebook page.
