Description:
Eda Rhyne welcomes you into its sanctum, the distillery floor, to enjoy the first of a series of private, coursed tasting dinners with beverage pairings. We are calling this series of events Of Course (of course we are), and the first featured guest will be Iter, an itinerant food concept from chef Daniel Rider. Chef Daniels food has been featured at Eda Rhyne at a pop-up event earlier this season, and was very well received. He currently bakes bread for chef Jacob Sessoms Table and All Day Darling, and he was Eric Morris sous chef at Katie Buttons Nightbell, and previously the chef de partie at Jose Andres Minibar in DC. Phoebe Esmon and Christian Gaal, who oversee the beverages at Eda Rhynes new barroom, will be designing the course pairings, which will consist both of wine and cocktails featuring local amari (bittersweet spirits and liqueurs) from us, Eda Rhyne, in the very space where they are produced. The dessert course may very well be featuring an enviable egg nog recipe for which, if you ask nicely, you may obtain the reciept to replicate for your friends and family this holiday season! Non-alcoholic adult beverages will be available for substitution, and as for food it is possible to offer a vegetarian or a pescatarian option. No matter what, any special requests or dietary restrictions must be included in your reservation form so that we can be fully prepared to accommodate your needs! For this particular menu, because of the nature of some of the dishes chef Daniel wishes to prepare, we are not planning to offer a gluten free or dairy free option. Our apologies to those of you for whom this is a deal breaker, and we encourage you to keep abreast of our upcoming events as we post them, because we will definitely be informing you as to those dietary options. Up to now, we have sort of assumed that you know who we are. In case you are not familiar with Eda Rhyne, we are a local distillery in Biltmore that utilizes the breathtaking biodiversity in our region of the Smoky Mountains to produce amari, which are bittersweet, often herbaceous liqueurs traditionally produced in the uplands of Italy and other Alpine regions of Europe. A significant portion of Eda Rhynes flavors is thanks to local forage, and nearly all of our botanicals and ingredients hail from this region. The botanicals featured in our products are part of the pharmacopeia of the region, and many have been prized for their medicinal potency by homesteaders and native herbalists alike. This local medicinal plant tradition reflects the cultural context of amari in Europe, where they were once sold as medicinal elixirs. Head Distiller Rett Murphy also applies his farming background to sourcing the quality agricultural products that find their way into his vats. Here at Eda Rhyne, we are excited to add food experiences into our offerings, because it is within the context of food and good company that these spirit styles, largely of Alpine, European origin were meant to be enjoyed. We are also excited to invite you, dear reader, to imbue the same room where we put so much effort and love into our spirits with your own positive energies in the forming of great memories sharing good times with us and our guest chefs!

Asheville’s Best Free Bubbly Tasting! Just stop by — we’ve got plenty of free parking. Want to make this year’s Christmas and New Year’s Eve sparkle? Of course you do, and that’s why we’re having this popular annual tasting earlier than usual this year. Stop by to sample a couple of great value sparkling wines along with three “real-deal” Champagnes for free. And stock up for the holidays! Cheers from Team Table Wine to you!! All of the featured tasting wines are being offered at 20% off by the bottle! 1. 2018 Alla Costiera Prosecco Extra Dry (Veneto, Italy) This tiny, certified organic, farmer-led producer makes one of the best Proseccos in the world. Showing off lovely pear, apple, lemon, and white floral notes, everyone loves this wine. 2. NV Graham Beck Brut (Western Cape, South Africa) Chardonnay and Pinot Noir make up the blend on this “methode Champenoise” bubbly from South Africa’s pioneering sparkling wine producer. It always delivers the goods at a great price. 3. NV Oudinot Champagne Brut (Champagne, France) A 50/50 blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Oudinot is one of the great Champagne values out there. Crisp, dry, classy and delightful, you won’t believe the price on this one. 4. NV Thierry Triolet Rose Champagne Brut (Champagne, France) Triolet Rose is back! I hope we still have some by the time this tasting takes place — no guarantees and we’ll sub another worthy wine in if need be. But needless to say, this is a staff and customer favorite every year. 5. NV Pol Roger Champagne Brut Reserve (Champagne, France) Year in and year out, this is one the best non-vintage Champagne deals in the marketplace. And the current disgorgement is brilliant stuff! Ripe, yet energetic, it exudes pure class and sophistication. Bravo!

It’s our last free wine tasting before Christmas, and it’s one of our best tastings of the year. Drew Summer of Advintage Distributing joins us to pour 7 holiday classics. Asheville’s Best Free Christmas Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking! It’s the Saturday before Christmas and Table Wine will be the place to be. This is your last chance to “try before you buy” some incredible wines picked by us to accompany your holiday festivities. Need a wine to go with Christmas dinner? We got that. Need a great Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon for mom and/or dad? We got that too! Trust me folks, we’re pouring nothing but the good stuff for this fat, free, and festive tasting. Stop by, taste, learn and save big some crazy good wines. All the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day only. 1. 2016 Raventos I Blanc Gran Reserva ‘De La Finca’ Brut (Penedes, Spain) - Need bubbles? We’ve got you covered and the Gran Reserva De La Finca is first class all the way. Possessing high toned notes of apple, lemon, green pear, fennel, and mineral, this could easily pass for a top flight Blanc de Blancs Champagne. 2. 2018 Huia Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand) - Huia makes one of our favorite Kiwi Sauvignon Blancs. Truly hand crafted, certified organic, and brimming with bright, lively and exotic fruit, this is truly in a class of its own. 3. 2017 Hudson Vineyards Chardonnay (Carneros, California) - Lee Hudson has sold fruit to the likes of Kistler, Aubert and Marcassin for many years. Now he’s making his own wines from his own vineyards, and he’s giving the aforementioned a run for their money. This my friends is one of the best Chardonnays we tasted all year. 4. 2017 Cristom Pinot Noir ‘Mt. Jefferson Cuvee’ (Willamette Valley, Oregon) - Cristom is one of the old school, blue chip Oregon Pinot Noir producers and the 2017 Mt. Jefferson Pinot Noir is in fine form. Showing perfect balance between ripe fruit and more savory, earthy elements, this has serious “wow factor!” 5. 2018 Bedrock Wine Company Old Vine Zinfandel (Various Parts, California) - Bedrock can confidently claim they are making some of California’s top Red Zins, and the new release of their Old Vine is going to make a lot of palates happy. Rich, spicy, fresh and memorable, this hits all the sweet spots. 6. 2017 Trig Point Cabernet Sauvignon ‘Diamond Dust Vineyard (Alexander Valley, California) - Trig Point is produced by Nick Goldschmidt, longtime winemaker at Simi. This is impressive Alexander Valley Cab — rich, hearty, and full bodied with plenty of stuffing and a long, satisfying finsish. 7. Surprise Wine (Napa Valley, California) - Drew and I promise you this will knock your socks off. It’s gonna’ be something big, bold, and special. Only one bottle will be opened — come early or forever hold your peace.
