Description:
Who has not known grief and loss? There are so many experiences of grief…from losing your favorite toy to losing a loved one, from divorce and heartbreak to loss of financial security. It is at times so difficult and unbearable, but the pain of loss is often intensified and prolonged by your lack of understanding of your existence and the role grief, loss and death play in your life. This workshop is a journey into the understanding of these dynamics and the development of grace in your life. OBJECTIVES Clearly understand the processes of loss, pain and grief and their vital relationships to your awakening. Learn how to consciously encounter loss and grief with greater understanding, certainty and grace. Transform your ability to deal with loss and pain. BENEFITS Transform your experiences of loss and grief into acceptance through increased consciousness. Experience Grace as a natural outcome of letting-go. Utilize consciousness as the power to “see” through loss and see the appointed role of all events, good and bad, in your life.

Description:
The mental and emotional issues, addictions and “knots” that have become part of your life originated in those significant experiences that were part of your past. Many of those experiences have been relegated to your subconscious, to the days and years of forgotten memories. But alive they are. But what you have not dealt with or overcome in the past has the nagging habit of returning again and again, each time with a slightly different appearance, but basically always identical, until you confront the old knot and untie it. The intention of this workshop is to significantly increase your consciousness about your “knot”  and how to begin walking a conscious path to truth, peace, and fulfilling the innate image of who you really are. You typically think of your shortcomings and “knots” as things of which you have to rid yourself of if you ever hope to be happy. In other words, your happiness and well-being must be located and found somewhere else. But as it turns out, this is not the case. Your “knot” itself is truly a doorway into your joy and fulfillment. Having learned to create a unified perception of yourself, you will create a unified perception of the whole world. As a result, you will experience that your joy, your meaning for living and your fulfillment was never lost at all. OBJECTIVES Transform your perception of your “knot” and who you are. Use the “knot” as one of the greatest tools you have to wake up. Create an enlightened profile of your “knot” as a map to move forward.

Welcoming another new addition to your family?  Is your older child excited about becoming a big sibling but not sure what their new title really means? Register now for this awesome Sibling Class. The Sibling Class is designed for children ages 2 and older. Each class we sit together and learn the basics about newborns - what they are wearing when they are born, how babies communicate, and what babies need (diapers, clothes, blankets, love). We talk about the process of labor and birth in G-rated fashion - where moms and dads go to have a baby or what it will be like to have a baby at home, how the baby gets out of mom, what are those funny sounds mom is making, and that mom is OK. Children are encouraged to bring a baby doll or baby-sized stuffed animal to class so they can diaper, clothe, swaddle, and hold the baby. They will learn the important ways they can help when the new baby comes home and learn how to "play" with thier little sibling and show the baby love. Each class includes time to read a book, watch a birth story, and do a craft and ebbs and flows to hold the attention of the various ages in the group. Although this class is primarliy focused on the children, parents will learn tips about integrating the new baby to the mix, including ways to welcome the new baby, how siblings can help with the day-to-day tasks a newborn requires, transitioning to a family of four or more, and how to prepare children for the birth of their new brother or sister.  The class will also have resources on what to expect, the changing family dynamics, challenges with older children such as toilet training and sleep.   The children will create a onesie for the new baby and create a big brother/sister tee shirt for themselves. They will also receive "I'm the Big Brother/Sister" certificate upon completing the class  YOU MAY ALSO LIKE: Childbirth Refresher Class We also offer class bundles:  Childbirth Refresher Class + Welcome Little Baby Sibling Class

Description:
Why take a Homegrown Babies 3 day long Birth Doula training?   Our Doulas feel confident and prepared to begin doulaing immediately by the completion of the course. The Doula skills you will learn are adaptable to many settings, birth experiences, and outcomes. Expect the unexpected! Chama is dedicated to providing the highest level of adult education and is able to provide an individual experience at your training.  Whole brain learning! The course is designed using modern teaching methods that involve and engage the learner. You don’t just sit and take notes. Instead, you’ll be moving around the room, doing small group activities, and having fun. People learn best in social environments when they feel a sense of purpose and can show mastery over the new skills they’ve learned. The printed manual is 270 plus pages of useful handouts and reference materials, with an additional 30 pages of Homegrown handouts. You’ll meet people who are different from you who also want to learn doula skills! Doulas are needed in every community. Only by working together can we help to spread the word that people’s emotional needs in labor are important. All parents birthing babies are respected and so are the wide range of choices people make. But that may not be easy to implement in real life! So we learn how to do that together in a safe way, and figure out our own personal limits. (No one is the best doula for everyone! Not even me!) Evidence-based skills! You learn what works and why, from someone who reads new scientific literature on a monthly basis. Three days! Studies of behavioral change from Stanford University show that it takes three days to create lasting change, cement new skills, and transform attitudes. Doulaing can be a profession, a lifestyle, and an approach to life that incorporates acceptance and compassion. That one extra day is what cements learning and brings about high confidence levels. Current issues! We discuss obstetrical trends and social justice issues in a safe and respectful way for all attendees. You’ll leave knowing more about what to expect in social media, and how to use your energy to transform birth in your community for all kinds of laboring families The training dates and locations are as followed: Asheville NC       October 19-21, 2018 Friday, October 19 and Saturday, October 20 beginning at 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sunday, October 21 from 8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Lunch is included in the training price.
