ASHEVILLE, NC – The baseball equipment may be back in storage by now and for most people the holidays are on everyone’s mind, but that has not stopped The Asheville Tourists from beginning to plan their 2010 promotional schedule. We will continue adding more events to the 2010 season, but we wanted to give you a sneak preview of the events we have already planned. Due to the popular demand of our fans, we have secured the dates for six firework shows at McCormick Field next season. The dates for those shows are as follows: May 15th, June 18th, July 2nd, July 3rd, July 30th, and August 14th.
We have also secured the dates for two special appearances at McCormick Field next season. The first is former Braves all-star Dale Murphy on June 19th. Murphy was considered one of the premier players during the 1990’s. He was a seven-time all-star with the Braves who also led the National League in homeruns and RBI’s twice. Details on the appearance will come at a later date, but the former Braves player will be signing autographs at the field on Saturday, June 19th for all fans in attendance.
The second appearance is the ZOOperstars! who will entertain all fans at the game on Saturday, July 31st. For those who have not seen them, they will be one of the highlights on the promotional schedule this summer. The ZOOperstars! show features hilarious characters such as Harry Canary, Ken Giraffey Jr., Roger Clamens, and many more. They are sure to keep you laughing all night long.
Another new item to the promotional schedule this season is two Feed-Your-Face-Fridays! On these nights fans will be treated to an all-you-can-eat menu at the concessions stand that will be included in your ticket price. The menu will include all-you-can-eat hotdogs, nachos, chicken tenders, popcorn, and peanuts. Ticket prices for these games are $13 for a box seat and $10 for a general admission seat. The two Feed-Your-Face-Fridays will be May 21st and August 13th. This is an event that you are definitely not going to want to miss.
