Go PINK This Friday

ASHEVILLE NC – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to the Centers for Disease Control, each year more than 200 thousand people will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

This Friday, October 26, Buncombe County Government employees are raising awareness by wearing pink.

Please joins and put on your pink (men – this means you, too), and help us spread breast cancer awareness!

Did you know…

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) at the Buncombe County Department of Health helps to save lives of women through early detection.  The program provides free breast exams, PAP tests for cervical cancer, and mammograms for women who:

  • are between the ages of 40 to 64
  • have little or no insurance and
  • meet certain eligibility requirements (Other women ages 18 to 39 may also be eligible)
