ASHEVILLE NC – The Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa is proud to announce Gray Line Trolley Tours of Asheville, the RED trolley, as “The Official Trolley” of The National Gingerbread House Competition. This designation pairs two of Asheville‘s tourism partners with “must do” activities for visitors and locals during the holidays. As “The Official Trolley” for the Competition, guests on board will be able to enjoy the gingerbread festivities by simply disembarking the trolley at The Grove Park Inn tour stop. Gray Line Trolley guests will also be provided with exclusive narration about The National Gingerbread House Competition.
Gray Line operates the red sightseeing trolleys seen all over Asheville. The Gray Line Trolley Tour of Asheville provides locals and visitors with historical narration and transportation around town, including unlimited “hop-on/hop-off” privileges at nine trolley stops. Reservations are not required but may be made online at www.graylineasheville.com.
While at the Resort, be sure to linger at the 19th annual National Gingerbread House Competition display which is in place through January 1, 2012. This year’s Competition included entries from across the U.S., and it’s a family holiday tradition that enthralls children of all ages. Learn more about the intricacies of making these works of art and the judging process by taking a “Stories of Gingerbread” guided tour. Hour-long tours are available Wednesdays through Sundays at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 & under. Advance reservations are required; call 800-438-5800.
